1. What is ChrisTV Online! ?
|
ChrisTV Online! it's a software for Windows which brings to your desktop a large number of
TV channels, radio channels and other kind of video/audio content broadcasted on the Internet
(like music video clips, movie trailers, public webcams, etc) using ONLY your Internet connection and no other dedicated hardware.
Having a channels' database with 1800+ TV channels and 600+ radio stations from more than 100 countries,
ChrisTV Online! provides you access to those channels and more than that a professional user friendly
interface to watch, listen and record* high quality video/audio content
from the Internet. The channels database is updated on a daily basis, so you'll benefit
of an increased number of updated channels' streams every time without any effort.
ChrisTV Online! product suite includes :
- PREMIUM Edition available as shareware with 14 days trial period.
- FREE Edition is a FREEWARE software for NON-Commercial Use.

2. Do I need a TV card ?
|
NO, you do _NOT_ need a TV tuner card inside your PC, that's the big advantage.
Instead you just need to have a good Internet connection as long as you watch your favorite
TV or radio channels using ChrisTV Online!
The better Internet connection you have the better the quality of the
watched/listened channels may be. Also see question/answer 5.

3. Which are the software/hardware requirements for ChrisTV Online! product in order to run smoothly ?
|
ChrisTV Online! has the following requirements:
Hardware:
Minimum configuration:
- 350MHz Intel Pentium II processor or AMD equivalent
- 64MB of RAM (128MB on Windows XP or later)
- Dial-up Internet connection download bandwidth 64kbps
Recommended:
- 500MHz Intel Pentium III processor or greater
- 128MB of RAM
- ADSL, cable or broadband Internet connection with at least 512 kbps download bandwidth
Software:
Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows 7
Microsoft Windows Media Player 8.0 or higher.
RealPlayer 8.0 or higher.
For a proper runtime environment for ChrisTV Online! you should have Windows installed plus Windows Media Player and RealPlayer.
As an alternative for RealPlayer you can install another free package.

4. Why some channels are not working ?
|
There are channels which do not broadcast 24/7 or there are too many connections to the channels stream, therefore sometimes you may think the link is broken. Try again several times
at different hours in different days before reporting that channel link as a broken link.

5. Why the quality is different among several distinct video/audio channels ?
|
We are not the owners of the sites which provide the media content so we cannot control the quality of the various streams we gathered
in ChrisTV's Online channels database. What we can assure is that we try to put in ChrisTV Online's channels database are links
to the highest quality broadcasted streams of those TV/radio online stations.
To benefit of the highest quality you also need
to have a download bandwith bigger than 512 kbps.
The reason for such differences in quality may be due to content
provider quality broadcasted and is not because of ChrisTV Online! software.

6. How to use the recording feature ?
|
ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition comes with a major feature of recording online streams.
This features allows you to store on your harddisk online streams at the same quality as they are broadcast without loosing any quality. You can choose the folder where you want the recordings to be stored and also the recording file naming.
After you select the channel you want to record, just press the "Start Recording" button and when you want to end the recording press "Stop Recording" button.
Using Adjust recording length feature, you will be able to set the recording length for your favorite show or video.
Please note that not all streams support recording.
Also note that recording is a feature only of ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition and not a feature of ChrisTV Online! FREE Edition.

7. How to add new channels to ChrisTV Online! channels database ?
|
You can add new channels directly from ChrisTV Online! interface: press "Settings" button and select "Add new channel", after you enter all stream details press "Add channel" button to save it. You will find the new channel in Favorites Channel list.
New channels can be also submited on our website using this form.

8. What are the restrictions/limitations of the PREMIUM Edition version during the FREE trial period ?
|
ChrisTV Online! - PREMIUM Edition has a 14 day FREE trial period.
When you launch the software, there will be a 5 seconds splash screen.
Channels Database Update is disabled.
The recordings are limited to 5 - 10 minutes.
Adjust recording length feature is disabled.
Once you purchase ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition license,
the restrictions/limitations will be removed.

9. Where can I find the list of channels ?
|
You can find the list of channels on this page. You can also check the channels list and watch your favourite shows by either downloading, installing ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition or FREE Edition and use it.
ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition has a 14 days FREE trial, therefore if you are satisfied of the product after those 14 days you can register by ordering a license from the purchase page.
ChrisTV Online! FREE Edition is freeware so there is no limitation on its free usage for non-commercial purposes.
You'll have access to the full list of channels but certain advanced features available in ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition are not available in the ChrisTV Online! FREE Edition.

10. Do I have to register ChrisTV Online! or is free software ?
|
ChrisTV Online! consists in a suite of two products: one shareware (ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition) and one freeware (ChrisTV Online! FREE Edition).
ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition being a shareware software application with FREE 14 days full product functionality trial period. This includes FULL access to the FULL channels database list of media content.
If you are still satisfied after the FREE trial period and you want to continue using ChrisTV Online! and benefit of the constant channels database and software updates, then you have to register your ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition copy.
You can register your PREMIUM Edition copy by purchasing one license from the purchase page. If you don't want to continue using it after the 14 days FREE trial period you must uninstall it & remove the installation kit completly from your computer using the uninstall functionality ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition instalation kit provides.
ChrisTV Online! FREE Edition does not need any registration since it's a FREE software for NON-Commercial Use, just relax and enjoy the online broadcasted media on your PC. Of course if at any moment you feel you need more than an entry-level product you can choose to install, use and purchase ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition from the purchase page.

11. How can I search for a certain channel ?
|
ChrisTV Online! has a channel search dialog box where you can enter the name of the station you to search for in the channels database list.
A list of matching channels will be displayed and by clicking on one of them you can connect to that specific channel (TV, radio, videoclip, webcam etc).
To get to the search window you have to press S key. For more details please read the ChrisTV Online! product help pages.

12. Can I make a list of favorite channels in ChrisTV Online! ? How can I do that ?
|
Yes, of course one of the key features of ChrisTV Online! is to add your favorites media channels links to a list, called in ChrisTV Online!
the Favorites Channels. To add a channel to the Favorites Channels list go to channels list select a channel and do a right click on it
in the channels list select 'Add to Favorites'. For further details please read also ChrisTV Online! help after installing the product.

13. Troubleshooting: ChrisTV Online! displays the following error message:
"Windows Media Player is not installed on your system and the selected channel's audio/video content can not be played."
What should I do ?

ChrisTV Online! needs for a proper functioning two free softwares installed on your system. One is Windows Media Player and
the second one Real Player. Please install Windows Media Player and then restart ChrisTV Online! and it should work fine.

14. Troubleshooting: ChrisTV Online! display the following error message:
"Real Player is not installed on your system and the selected channel's audio/video content can not be played."
What should I do ?

15. Troubleshooting: ChrisTV Online! display the following error message:
"SopFilter is not installed on your system and the selected channel's audio/video content can not be played."
What should I do ?

To watch SopCast channels with ChrisTV Online! you need to have installed SopFilter software on your system. Please install SopFilter and then restart ChrisTV Online! and it should work fine.

16. How can I update the channels database ?
|
You have to enter in the settings menu (either by selecting it from the pop-up menu or by pressing the Settings button from
the ChrisTV Online! control bar or CTRL+S) and press the Update 'Channels Database' button. ChrisTV Online! will check online
our site for a newer version of the channels database and make the update if necessary.
Please note that channels database update feature
is available only in ChrisTV Online! PREMIUM Edition.

17. How can I send a request/complaint to remove a certain channel from the ChrisTV Online! channels' database list?
|
If you represent that certain organization/company/fundation etc which broadcasts that media content you may want to be removed
from our software channels' database, please contact us at  .

18. How can I report a broken link or any other kind of links that should not be in ChrisTV Online! channels database?
|
Please send us and email at the station name and country name of the channel you think is broken
or which should not be part of the channels database. Thank you for your support.
